Bash Anwar

Compliance

Bash has been involved with the National Association of Muslim Police for many years now, initially as Chair of Greater Manchester Police Association of Muslim Police from 2015 to 2020 and more recently, upon his transfer to West Yorkshire where he took up the role as Compliance Officer for the National Association of Muslim Police.

Bash has always strived to become a role model for Muslim officers and staff and has worked to improve attraction and recruitment, representation, progression, and retention within the police service.

Bash’s current role as Chief Inspector for Neighbourhood Policing in Bradford means he works closely within the City’s Muslim communities and has delivered training on Islam to Districts across GMP and West Yorkshire Police.

Bash has worked as a police officer for over 20 years in various roles, with a particular background in District front-line operational policing.

In case you can’t get hold of Bash, have a look in your nearest park or Peak District where you will most likely find him running a marathon or hiking! Bash also has a keen interest in studying both Islam and the Arabic language.
